virt-install

The virt-install is a great tool to create a virtual machine directly from the command line. With a compatible linux distribution that allows installs via a serial console, you can go through the full installation right from your shell.

Example

virt-install -n fedora-35-template \
             --memory 2048 \
             --vcpus 2,maxvcpus=4,cpuset=auto \
             --cpu kvm64 \
             --graphics none \
             --os-variant fedora34 \
             --network bridge:br0 \
             --location https://ord.mirror.rackspace.com/fedora/releases/35/Server/x86_64/os/ \
             --disk fedora-35-template.qcow2,target.bus=scsi,driver.discard=unmap,size=8 \
             --console pty \
             --controller type=scsi,model=virtio-scsi -x 'console=ttyS0 biosdevname=0 net.ifnames=0 ip=single-dhcp inst.repo=https://ord.mirror.rackspace.com/fedora/releases/35/Server/x86_64/os/'
